Ethiopian maid falls to death from Sharjah building's 19th storey

Employers claim women fell while cleaning kitchen

A 22-year-old Ethiopian maid fell to her death from the 19th storey of a residential Sharjah building, Khaleej Times reported on Wednesday.

Police are looking into the incident that transpired in the emirate's Al-Qasba area. Construction workers alerted authorities after finding the body lying in a pool of blood.



The woman was employed by a 60-year-old woman and her 3o-year-old son. They claimed she fell from the kitchen's window while cleaning the space.

The latter has been taken to the pertinent police station for interrogation. The body of the deceased has been taken to a forensic laboratory for a detailed examination, police said.
