Veteran Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Aitzaz Ahsan on Tuesday apologised for his remarks on Kulsoom Nawaz's illness hours after the former first lady breathed her last at a London hospital.

Earlier this year, the veteran PPP leader had accused the PML-N of politicising Kulsoom Nawaz's illness. He had claimed the hospital where she was undergoing treatment was owned by the Sharif's.

Aitzaz tendered an apology while speaking to a local TV channel. Terming her demise a profound loss, he said he would attend the deceased final rites.
