Improvement in sports top priority, says PM Imran Khan
Premier heads first federal govt meeting regarding the condition of sports in Pakistan
Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that improvement in sports is the need of time and a top priority of the government.
The federal government on Tuesday held its first meeting on sports which was headed by Prime Minister Khan and included federal minister Fehmida Mirza, secretary IPC Jameel Ahmed, DG Pakistan Sports Board Arif Ibrahim and others.
Federal minister Fehmida Mirza briefed the meeting about the overall situation of sports in the country.
She also briefed the premier about the preparation of new policies for sports, including hockey, as well as prioritising building and development of sports complexes and grounds in Pakistan.
While speaking at the session, PM Khan stressed on the need for immediate measures for improvement in sports facilities. “Improvement in sports is a need of time and a top priority," PM Imran was quoted as saying by Express News.
