Additional Director General Resources Shahid Anayyat Malik briefed DG about the progress and issues of his department. The PFA DG said around 200,000 people were associated with the food business throughout Punjab among 60,000 food operators have got food license. He said the purpose of the issuing of food license was to restrict FBOs to follow the PFA rules and regulation along with ensuring the provision of quality food in Punjab as per “Healthy Punjab” mission under its slogans “From Farm to Fork”. He directed officials to take strict action against unlicensed FBOs.

The DG said whoever (unlicensed FBOs) contravenes provisions of the PFA Act shall be punishable with imprisonment up to one year or fine up to Rs500,000.
