Health minister takes steps to address patients’ woes

Marri announces fresh appointments at Trauma Centre

QUETTA: Taking cognisance of shortage of health staff, Balochistan Minister for Health Naseebullah Marri has announced fresh appointments from Grade I to XXI at the Civil Hospital’s Trauma Centre.

“New appointments will be made at the Trauma Centre while steps are under way to equip the hospital with modern machinery and address medicine shortage,” said the health minister while conducting a visit of various departments of the Civil Hospital on Friday.

Marri pledged to revamp the Civil Hospital’s plight on emergency basis, saying shortage of health staff at the Hospital would be filled.
He expressed satisfaction over the cleanliness at the hospital and performance of the staff.

“Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan, in his first cabinet meeting, imposed emergency in health and education departments and pledged to increase the provincial health funds,” he added.

“Health officials have been directed to ensure regular attendance at hospitals and institutions located in remote parts of the province. People of the province have been showing positive response towards the work being done to upgrade the government hospital.”

On the occasion, patients met the provincial health minister and registered their complaints regarding shortage of staff and medicines. On the complaints, Marri directed authorities to provide necessary relief to the patients.

“Efforts are under way to provide proper healthcare facilities at the hospital,” said Marri. “People can approach me directly regarding any complaints and hurdles they face at government hospitals.”
