Performance review: Abbottabad police recovered 85kg of drugs in August

The DPO said that they had conducted a special campaign against those selling drugs

ABBOTTABAD: The Abbottabad police have claimed to have recovered large amounts of drugs apart from liquor and guns during August.

This was disclosed by Abbottabad District Police Officer (DPO) Abbas Majeed Marwat while presiding over a monthly law and order review meeting at his office on Friday which was attended by SDPOs Additional SPs, SHOs of the respective police stations.

The DPO said that they had conducted a special campaign against those selling drugs and holding illegal and unlicensed arms and ammunition in all parts of the district including Galiyat, Havelian.

During the meeting, it was disclosed that during August, around 80 kilogrammes of hashish, five kilogrammes of heroin, 515 bottles of liquor, 72 guns, 161 pistols, and 76,156 cartridges were recovered while 155 proclaimed offenders were arrested.

Marwat said that they had recovered 14 stolen motorbikes and verified at least 100,221 vehicles through newly the established vehicle verification system. Moreover, the record of 75,138 people had been checked through the Criminal Record Verification System (CRVC).

The DPO announced that they will keep the award and reward policy of the police intact under which 22 police officers were given special rewards for outstanding performance.
