Two survive rape attempts in Sargodha

Police say culprits will be apprehended soon

A woman and a girl survived rape attempts in Sargodha, police said on Friday.

In the first incident, the police said that K*, a resident of Chak No 121, was on her way to work when accused Nazeer dragged the victim into the fields and allegedly tried to sexually assault her.

However, when the woman resisted and raised a hue and cry, the suspect fled the scene. Similarly, 16-year-old A* survived rape attempt in Zainpura area.

The police said that the victim had friendship with Muhammad Owais. On the day of the incident, the accused called the girl at his home and allegedly tried to rape her.


However, the victim put up resistance forcing the accused to escape from the spot.

The police have registered separate cases and started investigations.  The police said both women showed courage and foiled the rape attempts.  Earlier, a man allegedly tried to rape a woman in Chak No 84, Rahim Yar Khan.

Police said accused Saleem barged into the house of S* in Chak No 84 while she was alone in the house. The accused tried to sexually assault the woman but she raised hue and cry. As a result, people from the neighbourhood reached the spot and tried to catch the culprit. However, he managed to flee the scene.
