KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ehsan Mani issued a letter to four of his advisors who were appointed in the regime of Najam Sethi and formally informed them that they will be relieved of their duties.

These included former Test cricketers Shoaib Akhtar and Salahuddin Ahmad, former Director of Games Development Azid Syed and Shakeel Sheikh.

Earlier, Akhtar announced his resignation from the post of advisor to chairman via his official Twitter account on Thursday.

But sources from the PCB confirmed Daily Express that former fast-bowler was already informed that he will be removed from the post in the near future.

Akhtar is known for his bold and reckless comments on social media and had a close relationship with Sethi, who helped him in waving off the fine which was imposed on the pacer on disciplinary grounds.

On the other hand, Sheikh, who was appointed for as the advisor for ground and infrastructure in Sethi’s term, could not adjust well with new chairman Mani and had to lose his post.

PCB spokesperson confirmed the development by stating that it is ‘business as usual’ and that all four advisors are not working with the board anymore.
