QUETTA: The members of the provincial assembly (MPAs) have urged the teachers to fulfil their responsibilities with more sincerity, saying after parents, teachers are respected the most.

The MPAs stated this while addressing an oath-taking ceremony of the new members of the Government Teachers Association (GTA).
Balochistan Assembly Deputy Speaker Babar Musakhail administered the oath.

Balochistan ‘cleansed’ of ghost teachers

Musakhail, Awami National Party parliamentary leader Asghar Khan Achakzai, JUI-F’s Malik Sikandar Advocate, MPA Younus Aziz Zehri, newly-elected GTA President Muhammad Nawaz Jattak and other members addressed the oath-taking ceremony held at the Quetta Boy Scouts on Saturday.

ANP’s Achakzai said, “Teachers in our society have immense respect as they have been educating our children. It is our responsibility to take effective measures for provision of better facilities to our teachers in Balochistan.”

Achakzai urged the teachers to fulfil their responsibilities, saying teachers should “promise us they will not show any negligence towards their profession”.

He said, “The incumbent provincial government has imposed education and health emergency in the province in a bid to end commission and corruption culture in Balochistan.”

Lamenting the government’s delay in announcing an education minister, JUI-F’s Sikandar said, “Education is a vital department of the provincial government but unfortunately the education minister has not been announced, which is not good for the already dilapidated sector.

“People of Balochistan have been hearing tall claims of education emergency at all government departments but the education sector is replete with flaws.”

Deputy Speaker Musakhail said, “Our province is the least-developed province of the country as in my constituency – Musakhail – dozens of schools have yet to be opened.”

Musakhail urged the provincial government to pay immediate attention to the education department.
