LWMC organises awareness drive

As part of the drive, 20 new waste bins will also be installed in the union councils

LAHORE: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) and Agahi Foundation organised Cleanliness Awareness Activity in UC 153-156. Both organisation have recently inked a memorandum of understanding to raise cleanliness awareness among the public. The LWMC in collaboration with the non-governmental organisation held an extensive cleanliness awareness campaign in which LWMC communication wing set up two awareness camps and distributed literature and waste bags among the locals. A door-to-door campaign followed by cleanliness message disseminating from local mosques was also part of the activity in which people were advised to cooperate with the LWMC and avoid littering. As part of the drive, 20 new waste bins will also be installed in the union councils. LWMC Manager Communication Jamil Khawar and Deputy Managers Communication Umair Khan and Rehman Rashid led the whole activity. Special cleanliness arrangements were made by LWMC operation department and a few complaints received by the LWMC were resolved on the spot.
