A next generation insulin for treating diabetes was recently launched in Pakistan.

Novo Nordisk Pakistan Vice President Rashid Rafique Butt said that the organisation has a 90 year legacy of innovative diabetes care.

Changing Diabetes Brand Ambassador Wasim Akram stressed the importance of the correct treatment and the role that healthcare professional play in ensuring patients live a long and healthy life.

“This new insulin is a mix of two types; non-diabetics might not understand this but for me it is a gift from above,” he emphasised.

Dr Abbas Raza added that currently doctors know a lot about the disease than they did before. “Previously, it used to be about controlling blood sugar levels. Now we understand that controlling the disease is not enough, we must also control the complications that follow,” he maintained.

Diabetics advised not to ignore dental conditions

This new product will allow for flexibility in the timings of administering insulin.
