Protest: ‘No electricity for three to four days’

KESC authorities assured us our electricity would be restored but it has yet to happen.

KARACHI:
Residents of Akhtar Colony protested against Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) on Monday evening for prolonged load-shedding in the area.

Protesters blocked the traffic flow on Korangi Road, burning tyres and hurling stones at vehicles passing by. Residents complained that they have not had electricity for the last three or four days because of a power failure.

“KESC authorities assured us our electricity would be restored but it has yet to happen,” said a protester. The protest caused a traffic jam on Akhtar Colony Road and adjacent areas. Law enforcers arrived and the protesters dispersed nearly two hours later.
