ISLAMABAD:

The city district court handed over two foreigners to police custody for four days on charges of preparing illegal identity cards.

Senior Civil Judge Muhammad Aslam Gondal on Monday awarded four days physical remand of two foreigners Muhammad Ibrahim and Bilal Shafiq alias Noorullah for forging identity cards in different areas of the country to facilitate illegal residents.

Both the accused were produced before court where Sub-Inspector Federally Investigation Agency (FIA) Crime Circle Branch Imran Ali informed that police had arrested the Egyptian and Syrian national from the capital on May 29. Both had been living in Dar-ul-Islam Colony Attock district.

An FIR was registered against them under section 13, 14,462,471 and foreigners Act, 1946.

“We recovered identity cards from their possession during the raid and need to investigate further to nab their entire gang,” the sub-inspector said.

He requested the court for their ten-day physical remand in order to recover their personal computer and other belongings. However, the court awarded four days and directed FIA to produce them before court on June 3.
