KARACHI:
The Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) will hold the Masters Cup after a two-year hiatus in order to promote its top players. According to the federation’s president Riaz Ahmed, two tournaments will be held this year after Pakistan’s encouraging performance at the World Table Tennis Championship. “When I spoke to the players who participated in the World Championship, they told me that their performance could’ve been better had we organised more domestic tournaments throughout the year,” Ahmed told The Express Tribune. “Therefore, Masters Cup is a new beginning on the domestic circuit and we’ll make sure that we hold it every year.” Masters Cup will start on June 20 while the national championship will be held in August.

It is really a good effort and good news for the table tennis in Pakistan that PTTF is encouraging private sector to organize Masters Cup.
