At least four people were killed and five others sustained injuries in a car crash in Mandra-Chakwal road in Rawalpindi district on Sunday.

According to Express News, the driver of the speeding car lost control of the vehicle in the federal capital resulting in the car crashed into a bridge.

The accident caused on the spot death of all four people riding in the car while five other bystanders were severely injured in the incident.


The bodies of the four deceased have been shifted to the hospital for identification. The injured are also in hospital receiving medical assistance.

Earlier, it was reported that over 1,785 Road Traffic Accidents (RTA) have been reported across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) during Eidul Azha.

According to the K-P health department, some 1, 785 road traffic accidents were reported across the province with 267, the highest figure being in Abbottabad.

The document, a copy of which is available with The Express Tribune, reads that the district health officers reported 1, 327 which were the rest, out of which some 458 were reported by medical superintendents at different health facilities.
