
Medical experts at the camp noted that over 129 people at the village tested possible for hepatitis. Dr Khawar, from Kh Muhammad Safdar Medical College in Sialkot conducted the hepatitis tests of mostly villagers and said that he was alarmed at the numbers that tested positive.
“At least 70 people, including women, have been detected as hepatitis carriers,” he said. Medical experts said that the most common reason for the spread of the disease was untreated infections and drinking unclean water. More medical teams are touring neighbouring districts in the area to check for hepatitis cases.
