Bollywood 2002 heist-thriller Aankhen is finally getting a sequel and just like with the first installment, the makers are aiming big with the latest project.

Director Vipul Amrutlal Shah's film will now be helmed by Anees Bazmee and star Amitabh Bachchan in the lead once again. But according to the latest buzz, Aanhken 2 will also star Hollywood action legend Jackie Chan.

“Amit jee liked the script and has given his nod to the project. Anees has begun prep and will start shooting in 2019. The team is targeting an early 2020 release," a source told Mumbai Mirror

Apart from Bachchan, rumour has it that the film will also star Sushant Singh Rajput who was last seen in Raabta and Sanju actor Vicky Kaushal.

“Since the story revolves around a casino owned by a Chinese this time, the makers are considering Jackie Chan for the part,” adds the source.

Earlier in 2016, while announcing the film, Bazmee had said, “The biggest motivation to do this film is Amitabh Bachchan, who I haven’t directed in my life yet. So it was my dream. Then there is Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi and Arjun Rampal. It is a big film with a lot of stars.”

Released in 2002, the story of Aankhen starring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Arjun Rampal and Sushmita Sen, revolved around three visually impaired men who are trained to rob the bank by Bachchan. The film was an adaptation of Gujarati play Andhalo Pato.
