LAHORE: Former provincial health minister and PML-N leader Khawaja Imran Nazir vowed to surprise Prime Minister Imran Khan in the upcoming presidential election.

Sharif family members, senior PML-N leaders meet Nawaz in Adiala

Imran Nazir said this while submitting PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz Sharif’s nomination papers as opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Secretariat. Nazir said the party will remain united on the opposition benches and follow the vision of their leaders Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif. He said the time will tell whether they manage to spring a surprise for the presidential slot.

He asked how the people could believe in Imran Khan. Elaborating, he pointed out that the same people who were once slandered by the PTI chief were now being given different ministries.

Nazir pointed out that Imran Khan once called Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhary Pervez Elahi a “daku” or bandit.

The former minister said PPP leader Asif Ali Zardar maybe helpless for some reasons, but that is not the case with Nawaz Sharif.

He said those party MPAs who voted for Pervez Elahi in the speaker’s election are being snubbed on a daily basis and are perhaps ashamed inside.
