Bus fares on Eid holidays are sometimes double the price
ISLAMABAD: Many who work in metropolitan cities — Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore — go to their home cities or villages for Eid holidays to celebrate the occasion with their loved ones. However, as they flock to bus stations, they are overcharged for fares. These bus fares on Eid holidays are sometimes double the price. And this is unfair as many cannot afford the high prices and so choose to stay back and are deprived of the happiness of spending the occasion with family and friends.
The authorities concerned should look into the matter and fix a rate or a percentage that allows transport companies to charge a minimal extra amount on tickets during Eid. This amount should be set keeping in mind the inflation rate and people’s income.
