Paper leak: Admission test for K-P medical colleges cancelled

Inquiry finds the paper was leaked two days before the test

PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has cancelled the August 19 admission tests for public and private medical colleges after an inquiry confirmed the paper had been leaked.

The Khyber Medical University (KMU) had organised the entrance tests for public and private medical and dental colleges at seven locations across the province. The test was administered by the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA).

However, some students complained that the paper had been leaked on August 17 and that it was shared on social networking site Facebook and WhatsApp.



On Monday, the aspiring students staged a protest outside Peshawar Press Club and demanded that the government suspend and punish the ETEA officials responsible for leaking the paper.

The new provincial chief minister took notice of the issue and ordered an inquiry. He assured the protesters and their parents that action would be taken against the errant officials.

On Friday, the ETEA website announced that the tests have been cancelled.



“In the light of the inquiry report, the provincial government has cancelled the ETEA Medical Entrance Test held on August 19, 2018. New date will be announced soon,” the ETEA wrote on its Facebook page.
