If I join politics, I will not get married or have a family: Kangana Ranaut

Actor explained that balancing an acting career along with a political one will not be feasible

Earlier this month, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut extending her support to the current Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After calling Modi the "rightful leader of the country", fans started speculating if the Queen actor was all set to join politics soon, reported Mid Day.

Rumours circulated stating that Ranaut would be contesting from Gurdaspur, Punjab for a seat that was previously occupied by the late Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna. However, Kangana revealed that she has been extremely occupied with film commitments but does not oppose the idea of joining politics at some point in her life.

Clearing her political ambitions, Ranaut said, "Whenever I decide to take up the path, I will do so with utmost sophistication, dignity and full focus. I won't say politics is too demanding but I have to say that it isn't my cup of tea."

The Tanu weds Manu actor continued that serving her nation has been her dream. However, she explained that balancing an acting career along with a political one will not be feasible. She added that "renouncing everything" would be a small price to pay for the service of her country.

"If I have to be a national servant, I can't have a family or kids - or even an alternate career. A politician should be nothing more than a government servant. I can't be an actor and at the same time, pursue a future in politics. I don't want any conflict to arise over my service to the nation," shared Ranaut.
