Rising rape cases

We are part of a state where many citizens have become victims of sexual abuse

TURBAT: A 16-year-old girl who was sexually abused by two men in Rawalpindi has died. On the night of August 8, the girl was kidnapped at gunpoint at her home and after two days she was found in the house of the accused. After she returned home, she told her parents that she was sexually assaulted by two men.

We are part of a state where many citizens have become victims of sexual abuse. The crime can be curbed but little is being done to stop it and it is increasing by the day. The authorities concerned should take strict actions against this menace on a priority basis.

Now the situation is that women and girls feel insecure. They do not venture out of their homes after dark fearing attacks from sexual predators. In emergency situations women and girls have to come out of their homes but they do so at great risk to their life and honour.
