PESHAWAR:

The University of Peshawar (UoP) has decided to introduce a uniform criteria for four-year bachelors of science (BSc) programme in its affiliated universities in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), officials said.

A UoP spokesperson said that the issue was discussed at a meeting the other day. The meeting was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Dr Azmat Hayat Khan. The meeting decided that the registrars and controller of examinations of all public sector universities of K-P will meet on May 31 to standardise the four-year degree programme.

Assistant Registrar Gohar Rehman told the meeting that the BSc degree programme was introduced in affiliated colleges in September last year. Colleges submitted applications for affiliation with the UoP in March this year, and affiliation letters were issued during the first week of April.

The degree checking ratio will be set at 60:40. Around 60 per cent will be conducted by the university including preparation of papers and holding examinations, while the remaining 40 per cent of the job will be done by the affiliated colleges.
