With women empowerment all the rage right now, a hairdresser from Chicago has taken it upon herself to pay tribute to some of the most iconic women in our history. Jenelle Wexler does so by dressing up her four-month-old daughter Liberty Jaine Wexler as powerful female figures from across the world.

Jenelle first spotted similarities between Liberty and the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, reported The Independent. After taking photos of her daughter as Frida, she was inspired to carry on with the idea.

"The shots came out wonderfully and it was soon after that I thought about other women in history that have contributed to the betterment of women and people as a whole," Jenelle told The Independent. I feel it is important to try and keep the types of traits these women portrayed. It exemplifies accomplishments through intellect, courage, athletic ability, and a multitude of traits I hope I can teach my children."

Moreover, it's not only the outfit that's inspired by the renowned female figures. Jenelle also thinks about the composition of the photograph. "Once I decide which woman I would like Liberty to portray, I research the person and create a blurb that describes some of the historic accomplishments this female has attained."

Jenelle looks through photos of these inspirational women and then brainstorms a costume and background design for the photograph. She aims to perfectly highlight the achievements and characters of these women. The hairdresser then takes about 20 minutes to take each photo, which comprises of about 50 shots.
