PPP worker shot dead in Tharparkar

Chandar Sharma, a worker of Pakistan Peoples Party and an associate of the party's MNA from Tharparkar, Mahesh Kumar Malani, was shot dead in Mithi taluka on Saturday. Sharma, 40 years old former press secretary of PPP Tharparkar and personal secretary of Malani, was attacked when he was sitting at a friend's shop near Sadiq Faqeer ground.

The police said that it was early to state the cause of murder. An eyewitness and friend of the slain Sharma, Nawaz Baghi, who is also a local worker of the PPP, told the police that he had identified the suspect.



According to him, the suspect came on a motorcycle, fired gunshots and escaped. On the advice of police, Baghi did not share the name of the suspect with the media. Following the incident, the police rounded up four suspects for interrogation.

The PPP has announced a mourning over the incident. In a message, chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari condemned the murder. He said that he felt grieved to hear the sad news and asked Sindh government to bring the killers to book without delay.

Bilawal praised the contributions and support of Sharma to the party. He expressed condolence with the family and conveyed his solidarity.

He is survived by his wife and four children including two daughters and as many sons.
