Arif Alvi nominated for president’s post by PTI

Fawad Chaudhry confirms announcement in a tweet

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially nominated senior party leader Dr Arif Alvi as its presidential candidate for the upcoming presidential elections, set to take place on September 4.

The announcement was made by PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry in a tweet from his official Twitter account.

Earlier, sources claimed that the name of Alvi had been finalised as the next president of Pakistan. while PTI vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi is set to be given the foreign affairs ministry.

PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry had also said that the party was holding consultations to finalise the next cabinet and the announcement to this effect would be made within next three days.

The party on Thursday nominated former provincial information minister Shah Farman for the slot of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) governor.
