LAHORE: The notification mentioning the Eidul Azha holidays states that public holidays will be from August 21 to 23. However, much hue and cry has erupted since then and rightly so. The government has not announced the third day of Eid as a public holiday, despite the fact that many Muslims perform the animal sacrifice on the third day of Eid as well.
I fail to comprehend why the government has declared the third day of Eid a working day. Eidul Azha is to be celebrated only after a few days from now, so there is still time for the authorities concerned to make the necessary change. And they are advised to do so.
