akistanis celebrated Independence Day this year by planting trees

SHIKARPUR: It is worth-mentioning that the Pakistanis celebrated Independence Day this year by planting trees. Individuals, groups and institutions made strenuous efforts aimed at tackling the climate change effects through tree plantation.

Even esteemed institutions such as the army also worked towards having a greener Pakistan. Major General Asif Ghafoor provided two million saplings to plant. He would further provide 10 million saplings during this monsoon season to tackle the global warming woes in Pakistan.

No city in the whole country was left out in this drive. Perhaps the province of Sindh is at top of the list as a significant number of young persons inaugurated a camp where they collected seeds and saplings from citizens and then planted them. Every individual should support such a great idea to overcome the menace of climate change.

Climatic problems are among the important ones to overcome. It is time every Pakistani took part in planting trees for a greener Pakistan.
