Pakistan — where is it heading? (II)

Letter May 29, 2011
We are headed towards being a failed state as we have decided to surrender before the dark forces of obscurantism.

KARACHI: We are headed towards being a failed state as we have decided to surrender before the dark forces of obscurantism. Our establishment and our media have decided that they will keep the public’s attention diverted towards wild conspiracy theories, in which all our problems are blamed on the Yahoodis, Kafirs and American agents. This will help our public to remain in denial about the fact that 35,000 lives have been lost because our society is obsessed with religion, or certainly some aspects as to its interpretation, and that we blame everyone but the militants (who even take responsibility after carrying out the attacks) for them.
