TDAP vows support for lab upgrade

The SIMAP chairman requests the director general to upgrade the laboratory apparatus

SIALKOT: Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Regional Division North Director General Qamar Zaman has assured the surgical instruments manufacturing industry of support in developing the Sialkot Material Testing Laboratory (SIMTEL) as an affective lab with better testing facility. Chairing a meeting of the SIMTEL management committee, the director general discussed the ongoing certification procedures being adopted by SIMTEL for the issuance of SIMTEL certificate to surgical exporters under SRO No 617(1) 07 2002. The SIMAP chairman requested the director general to upgrade the laboratory apparatus and stressed the need for accreditation of the SIMTEL laboratory with the Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC). Office-bearers of SIMAP also informed the director general about the ongoing project of Common Facility Centre (CFC), which is under way in the premises of SIMAP with the financial support of Export Development Fund.
