PESHAWAR: Law enforcement agencies on Wednesday claimed to have arrested an Indian national from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram District.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, security officials said Ram Bahar had entered Pakistan via Afghanistan and was apprehended from Parachinar Airport.

Bahar reportedly hails from India's Gujrat state and only speaks his native language. Security officials further claimed that the Indian national did not possess any identification documents at the time of his arrest and added he is between 35 to 36 years of age.

Pakistan releases 26 Indian fishermen

Last month, Pakistan and India exchanged lists of civilian prisoners and fishermen of each country lodged in the jails through diplomatic channels in Islamabad and New Delhi.

“This is consistent with the provisions of the Consular Access Agreement between Pakistan and India, signed on 21 May 2008, under which both countries are required to exchange lists of prisoners in each other’s custody twice a year, on 1 January and 1 July, respectively," said a statement by the Foreign Office.
