SWABI: Hundreds of locals gathered in Swabi’s main town square of Aman Chowk to protest against what they term was the extrajudicial murder of a local by the police.

They also blocked the main roads leading to Jahangira, Mardan and Topi for several hours.

Local councillor Jahanzaib Khan, who is a cousin of the victim, told the protesters in an address that Haq was sleeping in his home with his family when CTD officials from a different area allegedly broke into his home by scaling the walls.

They then allegedly proceeded to kill Haq in front of his family. The police officials then allegedly put the body in a bag and tied it up. But they only learnt about the incident when an injured police official and the body was taken to the local hospital.
