Wheelchair Cricket: Lahore clinch All-Pakistan event

KARACHI: Lahore clinched the second All-Pakistan Wheelchair cricket tournament when they defeated Peshawar by three wickets after successfully chasing the 124-run target in just eight overs. Lahore’s Agha Hasnain Raza was named man of the match for scoring 66 in the final of the two-day tournament that featured five other teams including Karachi, Islamabad, Mirpurkhas, Multan and Mardan. Lahore defeated Mardan in the semi-final by nine wickets, while Peshawar had outplayed Multan to reach the final. “Wheelchair cricket has been getting a good responses in Pakistan,” Raza told The Express Tribune. “I have been playing it for more than seven years now and we are hoping that the Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Association can get an approval from the Pakistan Cricket Board so that we can also participate in international tournaments.”
