Governor calls Balochistan Assembly session on Aug 13

QUETTA: Approving a summary sent by caretaker Chief Minister Alauddin Marri, Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai has summoned the new Balochistan Assembly session on August 13 (Monday).

The interim chief minister had forwarded the summary after the Balochistan Awami Party requested him to call the BA session so the process of formation of the next provincial government could take place.

'Bid to assassinate Balochistan governor foiled'

BAP President and next chief minister Jam Kamal Khan on Thursday claimed to have support of 49 elected members and had made a request to call the assembly session.

A statement released by the BA secretary on Saturday said, “The Balochistan governor has approved the summary and summoned the new assembly session on Monday where the newly-elected MPAs will take oath of the Constitution at 11am.”

Voting for speaker and deputy speaker of the house would take place in the evening.
