Ministry says Rs25.5b disbursed  

'We are committed to providing an enabling environment for the industrial sector'

The Ministry of Commerce and Textile has said that an amount of Rs25.5 billion has been disbursed to the textile sector in the first phase of the prime minister’s trade enhancement package by June 30, 2018. Around Rs2.6 billion was provided to the textile sector in the first two months during ‘Phase II’ from July 1 to August 07, 2018, an official of the Ministry of Commerce and Textile said. The ministry had assured payments through the prime minister’s trade enhancement package by February 2019 in a bid to enhance the country’s exports. “The government has planned to expand coverage areas under the trade enhancement package to the remaining industrial sectors including pharmaceuticals,” he said. “We are committed to providing an enabling environment for the industrial sector.”
