Independence Day

Letter August 12, 2018
August 14 is a red letter day for us

KARACHI: August 14 is a red letter day for us. On this date we attained our freedom. We celebrate independence with utmost fervour and zeal. From Karachi to Khyber, young sentiments reflect such original belief that Allama Iqbal envisioned and the Quaid-e-Azam realised as the dream-come-true reality of Pakistan. Children decorate stalls and streets with buntings and flags of Pakistan; singing, chanting and reciting pulsating poems and patriotic songs, commemorating this happy national occasion with food, fun and frolic, and honouring our Quaid’s motto of unity, faith and discipline.

The Pakistan Super League franchise Peshawar Zalmi also announced ‘Azadi Cup’ tournament to celebrate Independence Day and provided a platform to the youth to showcase their talent yet again. The special students of public schools of Islamabad will launch a tree plantation campaign from August 14 to motivate students towards tree plantation. Independence Day celebration blooms anew with vim, vigor and vitality across all academic institutions.

Our embassies and consulates the world over are also clelebrating Independence Day amid grace and honour. Our young Pakistanis shine over the international horizon as ambassadors of goodwill celebrating Independence Day of Pakistan with traditional charm, colour and charisma and zeal and zest.
