PTI-BNP-M ink six-point agreement for coalition

ISLAMABAD: The Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) has announced support for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf at the Centre as the two parties inked a six-point momentum to solidify their alliance.

Senior members of both parties met in Quetta late Thursday morning and agreed on the points put forth by the BNP-M. The party then announced its support for a PTI-led govt in the centre.

Currently, the BNP-M has four seats in the National Assembly and would be allotted one NA seat for reserved women. The party announces support to the PTI with five seats in hand. In totality, the PTI now has 179 seats where simple majority is achieved at 172.

"PTI has agreed on our 6 points and we have signed an agreement regarding our concerns under the leadership of Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Jahangir Tareen. BNP-M has decided to support PTI in the federal after they have given full assurance to solve Balochistan’s problems," party president Sardar Akhtar Mengal.
