"My entire life, especially my personal life is not for public consumption. Ninety per cent of my life is for public but 10% of it is for me. I am a girl and I have the right to keep that to myself,” said a troubled Priyanka. She added that she doesn't take gossip and trolls seriously unless it's something that affects sentiments.
"Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I get annoyed. But mostly, I tell my publicists 'Let it be, today's news is tomorrow's trash’.”
The actor has been in the midst of rumours regarding her engagement to Jonas, who reportedly proposed to Priyanka on her 30th birthday. Her decision to opt out of Salman Khan's Bharat added more fuel to the fire. However, Priyanka revealed she doesn’t need to "defend or explain" anything when it comes to her family, relationships, equations with people and decisions. "I'm not running for office, so I don't owe anyone an explanation.”
Earlier, Bharat director Ali Abbas Zafar confirmed Priyanka’s exit from the project on social media, with a cryptic tweet that suggested that she will tie the knot soon. There were also reports that Salman was upset with Priyanka for walking out of the film at the last minute. And now, the Sultan actor has opened up about his feelings too.
“I am really happy for her. If we had known then that she has signed a big Hollywood film, we wouldn’t have stopped her from leaving the film. We go to know at the end moment, 10 days before the shooting that she wants to leave the film.”
Salman continued, “Whatever it is, her wedding, Hollywood film or the fact that she does not want to work with me, it’s her reason. We are really happy and supportive about her doing good work.”
According to Salman, whether Priyanka chooses to work in Bollywood or Hollywood, she is making her country proud either way. “If she doesn’t want to work here, then in Hollywood she is making our country proud. If she doesn’t want to work with Salman Khan, she’ll work with a top actor in Hollywood and make our country proud too,” he told Pinkvilla.
