Ghinwa Bhutto apologises to Jemima Goldsmith over misinformed tweet

Bhutto earlier commented on a picture of Jemima and her sons, which she assumed was clicked in Israel

Ghinwa Bhutto, on Monday, apologised to PTI Chairman Imran Khan's ex-wife, Jemima Goldsmith over a misconstrued tweet. The former responded to a picture of Jemima and her two kids, which she assumed was clicked in Israel.

Keeping in mind the existing tensions between Pakistan and Israel on the Palestine issue, Ghinwa wrote, "Imran Khan’s family on a visit to the apartheid state of Israel. What does this mean to Pakistan?"

To this, Jemima responded, "That photo was taken on a family holiday in Mexico and we are wearing ponchos. This kind of ignorance and fear mongering is dangerous. Please stop."

She further added, "This tweet is staggeringly ignorant and would be funny if it weren’t dangerous. The photo is taken on a family holiday in Mexico (not Israel) and we are wearing ponchos (not Jewish religious dress) Ghinwa Bhutto - shame on you."

Ghinwa then apologised to the 44-year-old's tweet.

"Oh my god! that was Mexico? My apologies. How perceptions can easily blind people, even me. But please, please do not lecture me about shame," she wrote.

shamoon | 5 years ago | Reply why you are trying to control Jemima as she is a foreign national and this her basic right beside from that one of your Brother Islamic Country has a close ties with Isreal why don't u not speak about that.Raise ur voice if u are true Pakistani ur close Islamic Country conducts military operations/drills with Isreal this is duality.

She apologized, which is great and now I am looking forward towards Jamaima to say some good words back to her, showing her class. By the way, I am a big time fan of IK and his family but again it's a tweet war and the winner will be the one who will take the lead in humbleness. She is from Syria which borders Isreal and most of the syrians know about the israelis. Ghinwa decided to score a political point and it has backfired. Even if Jemima was in Israel---so what?

Ginwa you may have learnt how to tweet but you mind is still some where in the feudal, 20th century. Read, travel and learn and for once take your province it’s illiteracy that you and your family have imposed on the people of Sindh. Shame on you.
