Smuggling: K-P cancels animal, vegetable export permits

The CM directed the district administrations to strictly follow orders and stop the smuggling

PESHAWAR: To prevent a possible shortage of the commodities in the province ahead of Eidul Azha, the provincial government on Sunday cancelled livestock and vegetable export permits.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (retd ) Dost Muhammad Khan on Sunday issued the directives to stop possible shortage of sacrificial animals and vegetable at the occasion of Eid. As per the Chief Minister House’s media wing, the permits were cancelled to stop the smuggling of animals and vegetables to Afghanistan ahead of Eid. The chief minister directed the district administrations to strictly follow the orders and stop the smuggling.

He warned of strict action against any district administration who failed to comply with the orders.

“Every year, locals face problems (shortages) during Eidul Azha due to smuggling of animals and vegetables to Afghanistan,” the media wing of the CM House quoting Justice (retired) Dost as stating.

Earlier, the interim chief minister visited the Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar to inquire about the health of passengers who were a victim of the Kohat traffic accident.

He took notice of the fees and treatment charges the injured were being charged. He directed the hospital administration to immediately report to him as to under which law the injured were being charged for emergency services and other healthcare facilities.
