He further emphasised that this activity shall be funded from the returns on the endowment fund of the Federal Teacher Foundation which was transferred on its merger with NEF. In this regard, the NEF has revised its eligibility criteria for need based-scholarships. The revised criteria will analyse financial assistance on the basis of monthly income, Tahir said.
Sharing the details of the programme, the NEF chief said that financial assistance will be analysed on the basis of monthly income of the child’s parents which should be less than Rs60,000 per month. Orphan children of deceased federal teachers, children of single parents (separated and divorced teachers), children of teachers in basic pay scale (BPS) grade-16 and below are eligible to apply for scholarships, Tahir said.
