Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Aamir Liaquat’s sexist tweet against Senator Sherry Rehman comes as no surprise as time and again men in power have used their blatant sexism against women in power to show the latter their so-called ‘place’. However, what is indeed surprising is that Imran Khan who often takes to Twitter to voice his opinions has nothing to say about his MNA’s sexist approach.
Imran Khan or his party’s spokesperson should have at least condemned such a tweet coming from one of his party members who is popular among the masses. Imran Khan’s silence could prove costly for his party and his government because people dislike parties that have in their fold who are openly sexist.
