Director Wajahat Rauf announces 'Karachi Se Lahore 3'

The film is slated to release on Eidul Fitr next year

Wajahat Rauf, the director of the hit local film Karachi Se Lahore has announced its third installment in an Instagram post. "Showcase Films and IMGC team up once again after the success of their 2015 box office hit Karachi se Lahore," he wrote.

"The road trip might have ended but the third installment of Wajahat Rauf's franchise films penned by Yasir Hussain promises a full doze of non-stop entertainment. KSL3 is stirring up and is set to release on Eidul Fitr 2019!" the post read.

Starring Saba Qamar and Yasir Hussain, the film is a spin-off of last year’s popular hit, Karachi Se Lahore.SCREENGRAB VIMEO

Sheikh Amjad Rasheed, Chairman IMGC group shared, "It is a matter of pleasure and privilege for the IMGC group to once again be associated with Mr Wajahat Rauf of Showcase Films. Our experiences both in time delivery, personal relationship and successful turnover is unique with this group."

Rauf unveiled the possible poster of the film and it gives away nothing!

"No road trip? What's cooking here? Can you guess what the third sequel to Karachi Se Lahore will bring to the screen?" read his Instagram post.

The first two films revolved around road trips. Karachi Se Lahore starred Shehzad Sheikh, Ayesha Omar, Javed Sheikh and Yasir Hussain in pivotal roles. While the sequel, Lahore Se Aagay, starred Saba Qamar and Yasir Hussain as protagonists. Both films performed considerably well at the box office.

We can't wait to see what the makers have in store for us this time around!
