AKU hold IBA in All-Star Championship

Football match characterised by missed opportunities.

KARACHI:

The All-Star Championship clash between IBA United and AKU ended in a draw after both sides failed to score.

Although IBA had a better first-half, they failed to capitalise on the opportunities.

IBA’s Fuad and Haisam impressed on a number of occasions, setting up a potential goal for Taimur with the forward failing to convert.

AKU forward Waleed earned a great chance when he was brought down inside the penalty area, only for the referee to dismiss his claim citing it as a mere collision.

In the second-half, Waleed was again found guilty of poor finishing with Faraz Khan blasting his effort over the bar from point-blank range. The final whistle brought an end to the stalemate with both teams sharing equal points.
