ABBOTTABAD: At least five people were killed, including the driver of the vehicle, when a van skidded off the road and plunged hundreds of feet into a deep ditch near the Lari village near Abbottabad. According to reports, a Rawalpindi-based family was travelling to the Banotha village in Thandyiani from Abbottabad on Thursday evening to attend the funeral of their relative. While travelling on the link road, around 25 kilometres from Abbottabad, the driver of the car apparently lost control over the wheels at a curve in the road and the vehicle skidded off the road and fell into the ravine. As a result, five people, including the driver were killed on the spot. Local villagers managed to pull the bodies from the van’s debris. The dead were identified as Aisha Bibi, Muhammad Shoeeb, brothers Shezad Awan and Arslan Awan and Naseer Awan.
