Amir Liaquat Hussain placed on a social media platform a picture of Sherry Rehman, with a disrespectful caption
SUKKUR: Recently, MNA-elect from the PTI Amir Liaquat Hussain placed on a social media platform a picture of the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Sherry Rehman, with a disrespectful caption. This act on the part of the former federal minister for religious affairs invited sharp rebuke from the Twitterati after which Amir Liaquat apologised.
However, this is not the first time a male politician has used such remarks for a female politician. Previously, MQM chief Altaf Hussain and PML-N’s Khawaja Asif used similar remarks against PTI’s Shireen Mazari .
This male chauvinist attitude towards female politicians explains well the dynamics of male-dominance in politics in most Asian states.
