Police arrested four suspects on Thursday for allegedly raping and murdering a minor in the port city.
The seven-year-old's body was found from the city's Gulistan-e-Jauhar locality and medical reports confirmed she had been strangled and sexually assaulted. Four people, including the prime accused Shahid Mehmood were arrested and some of those arrested include he victim's close relatives.
According to police, one of the suspects confessed during interrogation that the child was indeed tortured.

DNA samples of all suspects will be collected and examined and action will then be recommended based on the findings.
In April, the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar took notice of the alleged rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in Chichawatni, according to reports.
The deceased was burnt after being raped. The girl was taken to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Taking notice of the incident, CJP Nisar ordered Punjab IG Arif Nawaz to present a report in 24 hours. Protests rocked Chichawatni on Tuesday following the incident.
