ISLAMABAD: A new government has been elected, but the debate continues whether the civilian votes have actually brought in the new chosen leaders or is it the ‘third hand’ or the ‘alien’ forces casting their spell.
Nevertheless, what should be celebrated is the upholding of the sanctity of the vote and the fact that the dark history of a military takeover is not repeating itself. For the third time consecutively, civilians have been awarded with a civilian leadership. Lastly, as long as the elected representatives serve what they have promised to, who brings whom, holds little importance.
