Army brass expresses satisfaction on military-level engagement with Afghanistan

Gen Qamar appreciates efforts of Army Elections Support Centre for assisting ECP as per the assigned mandate

RAWALPINDI: The top brass of the Pakistan Army on Wednesday expressed satisfaction on military-level engagement with Afghanistan during the 212th Corps Commanders conference, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The high-level huddle was presided by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa in which the geo-strategic environment in the region, regional peace and internal security of the country were reviewed.

The army chief also directed all commanders to continue consolidating the gains made against militancy in the war against terror, according to the military's media wing.



General Qamar further appreciated efforts of the Army Elections Support Centre (AESC) and field formations for assisting the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as per the assigned mandate.

The commanders also paid tribute to all martyrs and injured who sacrificed their blood during the process apart from thanking the "brave people of Pakistan for their participation and their wholehearted support for the Armed Forces while discharging their duty towards a national cause".
