PESHAWAR: Police have discovered the body of a man and a woman from a house in the Jabba Sohail area of Yakatoot on the outskirts of the city with officials suspecting that they died of a drug overdose.

Another man was found unconscious in the house while drugs were also recovered.

Yakatoot police said that a man, Ezzat, had approached them stating that his brother Asif, a woman named Ayesha and their friend Omar Sajjad (a resident of Shaheen Muslim Town) were allegedly taking crystal methamphetamines (commonly known as ice) at a house in the Jabba Sohailabad area of the city.

He further claimed that when they did not respond for multiple hours, he became worried and went to the house. With no response, he had to break into the house.

Ezzat told the police that inside, he found his brother unconscious while Ayesha and Sajjad were dead.

The police then accompanied Ezzat to the spot and inspected the house. They subsequently registered a case and began investigations.

Police officers later said that the report filed by the complainant appeared to be accurate that the two had died of a drug overdose.

“Both the bodies have been sent for an autopsy while the unconscious man has been hospitalised,” said a police officer while speaking to The Express Tribune.
